History

Established in the 1920's the Thibodeau family has produced three generations of architects.

J. Robert Thibodeau Architect was formed in 1978 to eventually become J.Robert Thibodeau Architecture + Design Inc. and recently renamed under the Thibodeau Architecture + Design brand.

Thibodeau is an award winning fully integrated architectural, interior design and planning firm that provides a boutique like distinguished service to both local clients as well as nation wide enterprises with a strong emphasis on sustainable design.

Thibodeau is a fully-integrated, comprehensive team of people committed above all to do great work, make a difference and have fun! With offices in Vancouver and Montreal, a staff of a dozen dedicated professionals (architects, designers, project managers and technologists), we provide personalized service across Canada in collaboration with our extensive network of affiliated offices in most major cities. We also serve our clientèle with operations in Mexico through our affiliated office in Guadalajara.

Our envisioning design sessions are structured to solicit the input and participation of all stakeholders, clients, users, consultants and our own staff which generally translate in very powerful outcomes.

Throughout this process we remain vigilant on the project's fundamentals: programming, scheduling, budgeting and funding. The operative words to insure the process works are 'Effective communications'; we strive for clarity so that tasks are S.M.A.R.T: specific, measurable, acceptable, realistic, in a defined time frame.

With LEED© Accredited Professionals on staff; we strongly advocate and implement recognized and innovative sustainable design practices in all our projects which provides added-value to all projects.

Thibodeau is actively involved in the profession through memberships in industry organization such as the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, the Canadian Green Building Council, the National Association of Industrial and Office Property. Likewise, we are present at benchmark venues such as the Real Estate Forum and International Council of Shopping Centers. Everyone at Thibodeau participates in a continuing education program to keep abreast of design trends, new technologies and sharpen their skill sets.
