Architect and Principal

As President of TAD, J. Robert heads a multidisciplinary team of dedicated Architects, Designers, Technicians and Managers. He commutes between Montreal and Vancouver in response to increasing transcontinental demands for work across the country.

With his 30 years experience, J. Robert maintains personal involvement in all projects and insures design continuity and cohesion with his team. He takes ownership of his client’s projects and focuses on providing creative environments reflecting current trends in architecture and design. His clientele benefits from his experience in the industry, providing expertise in cost management problem solving and realistic, functional project scheduling.

J.Robert is actively involved in the profession advocating sustainable design and mentoring interns and immigrating colleagues.

J. Robert has realised broad spectrum projects such as renovating Place Ville-Marie's Promenade located in the heart of Montreal and Air Canada's Airport installations in Dorval. Recently, he has to his credit special character projects such as the renovation of BC Ferries' Queen of the North, a ferry operating on Canada's West Coast, Bell Mobility's facilities at the Broadway Tech Center and the award wnning Bell Offices at Bentall 5 downtown Vancouver. His organizational talents have won him the trust of major retailers such as Sobeys and Future Shop in successfully accomplishing their expansion programs.

As a third generation architect in 1976 J.Robert Thibodeau obtained his Bachelor degree in Architecture from McGill University. Member of the Quebec Order of Architects, the Alberta Association of Architects and of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia in 1999 he is nominated Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. As a lecturer on sustainable development in architecture, he thought at McGill University and he chaired a number of committees relating to the architectural profession and the environment.

Laurette Gagnon, ADPIQ

Senior Interior Designer
and Director

Laurette directs the Montreal Team’s Interiors work and oversees business development locally. With 24 years experience in the field of Interior Design, she has spent over 10 years collaborating with TAD. In the field of Retail, she has overseen the design and production of multiple roll-outs for such clients as Sports-Experts, the Quebec Liquor Board, Famous Players and the CIBC. In the field of Workspace Design, Laurette shows a fine sense of space, color, texture and lighting that have been well expressed in projects such as Bell’s Call Center at the Broadway Tech Center in Vancouver. She has provided world class clients with her expertise in establishing Strategic Master Plans and Standards such as Bombardier and CAE. She is proficient at developing facility standards, selecting furniture systems and overseeing their implementation.
